Stadium Sports Offering Premiere ECU and High School Apparel

With a sea of purple and gold, Stadium Sports is ready to outfit any Pirate fan for game day. But the shop near the East Carolina University athletics complex also has expanded its inventory to help Pitt County students get in the spirit at their respective schools.

With exclusive designs and screen printing handled in-house, T-shirts and sweatshirts occupy a wall of the Charles Boulevard shop, featuring the green and blue of Greenville Rose, black and gold of Farmville Central, orange of North Pitt, blue and gold of D.H. Conley, green and gold of Ayden-Grifton, and maroon of South Central.

“We are the premiere high school apparel shop in the town,” Stadium Sports owner Eric Jarman said. “We stock every school in the county.”

Stadium Sports opened in 2011 in a different location in the shopping center at the corner of 14th Street and Charles Boulevard, but it went unnoticed even by many longtime Greenville residents. Since relocating to a spot facing Charles Boulevard, just a short walk from Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium near the train trestle, Stadium Sports’ visibility and access have increased significantly.

“The parking is so convenient and so easy,” Jarman said. “We’re right across from the football stadium. People see it every day.”

Visitors to the store also can see an increase in selection. Although Jarman narrowed the number of product lines offered overall, inventory more than doubled. Among the greatest expansion is women’s apparel — some for the Pirate fan and an assortment of daily casual wear. There are even a few selections in red and light blue.

The three primary brands for men’s casual wear are adidas, Colosseum, and Cutter and Buck. Stadium Sports also carries officially licensed East Carolina University products, Live Oak brand shirts, a wide selection of hats, Costa sunglasses and aparrel, and is the exclusive dealer for Pirate Coast apparel.

Stadium Sports, which carried a full line of baseball equipment when it opened, still offers a limited selection, as well as offering custom graphics, and corporate and team sales.

“We’re still going to be a provider of team sports apparel as well as still continuing with some of the baseball stuff but in a limited basis,” Jarman said.
