GUC Taking Over Bethel’s Water and Sewer Progresses

Greenville, NC- Greenville Utilities Commission is currently considering the prospect of taking over Bethel’s water and sewer.

GUC met Wednesday to discuss the idea. The town already has their water both supplied and treated by Greenville Utilities. During the meeting it was voted to move forward with the idea, although Bethel wants to make sure that their utility pricing stays realistic and affordable for its residents.

The vote to move forward does not finalize any decisions, however, it does make progress and show growth in the project development. By doing this, residents of Bethel would potentially become customers of GUC directly instead of GUC charging a wholesale rate to the town of Bethel for sewer and water.
