Greenville, NC- For many years Dance Art Theatre has performed the classic story of The Nutcracker as a magical addition to the holiday season. This year they will be in Greenville putting on the dance for their 26th season.
The Nutcracker is a magical story of a young girl named Clara who goes on a Christmas eve journey to a world of sugarplum faeries and dancing snowflakes. She encounters a battle between an evil mouse king and her own beloved nutcracker. Upon the completion of the battle the nutcracker, as the winner, turns into a prince and takes Clara on an enchanting journey to lands of snow and sweets.
The Dance Art Theatre’s Greenville performance of The Nutcracker will be held at Wright Auditorium on ECU campus, December 9th and 10th. Dance Art Theatre will be accompanied by Eastern Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Jorge Richter, coming together for the shows 26th season.
Although this show is a wonderful holiday tradition and an excellent story, it is not merely a dance performance. Children’s Miracle Network Hospital will receive the net proceeds made from the performance which will then go towards Vidant Medical Centers very own Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital. Embrace the joy of the season, and give back to those in need while having a magical holiday experience of your own.
