The inaugural Waketober Fest on Saturday at Cable Paradise Park near Ayden will provide a Halloween celebration with a twist.
Along with vendors and food trucks, games, a Halloween-themed photo booth, a costume contest and face painting, the first-year event will include a wakeboard contest.
Prizes for the top three finishers will be presented for categories for best trick on big kicker and best trick on dance floor. There also will be a prize for best slam.
Admission is $3 a person with children 3 and younger receiving free admission. Each admission comes with an entry into the costume contest. The entry fee for wakeboard contests is $10. An all-day pass is $35.
