Pitt County,NC- The first month of summer is coming to a close and with the beginning of July comes preparations for Independence Day celebrations. Be sure to know when and where your local celebrations are taking place.
Farmville: Farmville will be having its annual Independence Day celebration on July 3. Festivities will be held at the Walter B. Jones Town Common in Farmville. The evening will be full of good food, and live music by the Tar River Community Band. Also be sure to bring blankets and chairs for lounging on the commons, and make sure to stick around for the firework show that is said to be bigger and better than ever!
The Farmville Independence Day celebration will begin at 6 p.m. and will run through 9:30 p.m.
Greenville: Greenville will be hosting its annual Independence Day celebration on July 4. Festivities will kick off at 2 p.m. that afternoon and will continue through the night ending about 9:30. Festival-goers can expect a variety of entertainment including food and beverages, games, children’s activities, inflatables, and music from Built For Comfort, Roman Sams, and Mason Jar Bonfire. Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. so be sure to have your blankets and chairs handy for laying back and enjoying the show.
The Greenville Fourth of July event will take place at the Town Common.
